Breathing new life into your Misti stamping platform

I couldn’t put my finger on it, but there was always something about my Misti stamping platform that made me avoid it. For some reason, I didn’t like it. It worked well, in fact, very well, but I still didn’t like it.

Well, guess what? It was purely superficial. One day, it just dawned on me that I should remove the pink ruler markings and replace them with some washi tape. It’s crazy, but it made all the difference.

I was not using the ruler markings anyway and that particular shade of pink did absolutely nothing for me.

To do this, all I did was choose a washi tape that was wider than 3/4 of an inch, placed it where the pink ruler markings had been and then cut away the excess with my kraft knife. Crazy as it sounds, I love using my Misti! Now that I have some fun, colourful washi tape around the edges and as little handles, I’m always happy to pull out my Misti and work with it.

Best of all, when I get tired of this tape, I can always change it with something else.

In fact, I have been enjoying working with my Misti so much, that I even bought a new accessory for it recently. It’s the Waffle Flower grip mat and it’s another game changer.

No more magnets and the card fronts don’t pull away so I have to reposition them constantly. The grip mat makes a huge difference.

To be honest, I prefer it without the markings sheet. I do have the creative corners positioning accessories and prefer to place my paper using those. I like that this is an option.

The 8.5″ x 6.5″ grip mat fits in the original Misti. If you are using the mini Misti, you can use the 6×6 grip mat.

These two things have breathed new life info my Misti and I’m a very happy stamper again!

BTW, there are new versions of the Misti with different colour rulers. I have included those below in case you prefer them.
